High Frequency Words:  cried, car, he, try, funny, window, told, pretty, air, pictures

Phonics:  double consonants and ck........mess, mitten, dress, add stuck

Fkuency:  accurate reading that connects to the text (does what you're reading make sense?)

Comprehension Strategy:  Story Structure (setting, characters, problem, solution, etc. )

Vocabulary:  blooming, shovels, scent, tough, wrinkled, plain, muscles, nodded

Vocabulary Strategies:  homophones (bare, bear, write, right, weight, wait, etc. )

Grammar:  proper nouns (nouns that name, i.e. Benny Bills Elementary School, Mrs. Hunter, etc.)

Spelling Words:  dress, spell, class, full, add, neck, stuck, kick, rock, black, trick, doll

Math:  CRA on Wednesday, recognizing and counting money ( we're adding the dollar bill this week)

Science:  woodland forest, rainforest, and desert


OCT 17-18

High Frequency Words:  animals, bear, know, most, myself, second, she, sleep, three, work

Phonics:  common final blends  ng, nk, nt, ft, xt, mp

Fluency:  reading with expression

Comprehension Strategies:  text and graphic features  (non-fiction text:  pictures, captions, table of contents, etc.)

Vocabulary:  shaped, branches, pond, beaks, deepest, break, hang, winding

Vocabulary Strategies:  base words and prefixes  (un-, re-)

Grammar:  more plural nouns (add -es to words that end in s, x, sh, and ch; collective nouns--team, family, club, etc.; irregular plural nouns--children, men, feet, mice, etc.)

Spelling Words:  next, end, camp, sank, drink, hunt, stand, long, stamp, pond, bring

Math:  recognizing and counting coins

Science:  animal habitats--woodland forest, rain forest
