Going on this Week

We have our Constructed Response Assessment coming up on Wednesday. If you're not sure what that is, remember the RICE sheet I showed you during open house and parent conferences???? Yep, that's it...we'll be tested on those this week.  Remind your child to do their best work and READ ALL THE DIRECTIONS.  I cannot read it for them.  Also, see if they can tell you what RICE stands for:  R=re-read and re-tell; I=illustrate; C=compute; E=explain

Please help your child practice money. Ask them to name a coin, tell the value of a coin, count a handful of coins, let them skip count to you (count by fives).

I hope to give you some information later in the week about our Holiday Party coming up.  Keep checking back.

If you haven't signed up for Remind 101 please do so. It is a quick and easy way for me to send out reminders.  Your child should have come home with a paper about this, but let me know if you need another one.

Money, Money, Money.....Money

Please, Please, Please....let your child work with any change that you have around the house.  Let them tell you what coin they are looking at, have them tell you how much that coin is worth, have them count a handful of coins.  This would help tremendously in the classroom. I appreciate your help.

Don't forget spelling spirals are due tomorrow.

Also, if your child bought a fitness festival t-shirt, have them wear it tomorrow for a school-wide picture.

In a Nutshell

This week is going to be crazy. With that being said, I really don't have a set schedule of lessons for the week. However, we will be covering the following areas throughout the week:  commas, solar system, and word problems. We will wrap up our story for the week, Two Bad Ants, as well as our spelling. Hopefully, every student will finish their writing project too.

I can't believe this year is coming to an end. I'm already thinking about how I am going to miss all of my students over the summer. I do want to thank all of my parents for being supportive. I know it was an unusual year and I really appreciate all of you for making my year a great one.

FIELD DAY IS TOMORROW

Just a reminder that Thursday is our field day. All parents are welcome to come. Please make sure your child wears tennis shoes, comfortable clothing, and brings sunscreen if needed. Our first event starts at 7:50 so it may be a little cool at first. However, I understand it is suppose to warm up quite nicely. I told the students they may want to try to tough out the slightly cooler weather in the morning rather than be too hot in the later part of the day due to too much clothing. Of course, as their parents, you make that call. :) We will be outside the majority of the day.
